TERMS & CONDITIONS

Effective: January 2026

01

INQUIRIES AND HOW AN ORDER BEGINS

All orders begin with a written inquiry. Oorvaya does not operate a shopping cart or instant checkout, every piece is discussed, confirmed, and commissioned individually. An order is formally confirmed only once both parties have agreed on the piece, the specifications, the price, and the timeline in writing via email, and the token payment has been received.

02

HOW PRICING WORKS

Prices are shared privately in conversation and invoiced in the client's local currency. The prevailing silver rate at the time of order confirmation applies.

If you wish to lock in the silver rate at the time of inquiry, the full silver value of the piece must be paid in advance. This amount is adjusted against your final invoice. Any excess is returned to you in full.

03

PAYMENT TERMS

A token payment of 30% of the total order value confirms your commission and begins production. The remaining 70% is due before your piece is dispatched. No piece leaves the atelier until full payment has been received.

04

HOW LONG IT TAKES

Production timelines vary by piece and are confirmed at the time of order. As a guide, most pieces require between two and twelve weeks at the bench, simpler commissions at the shorter end, complex or bespoke pieces at the longer. We will always tell you where your piece is in the process.

In the rare event of a delay outside our control, we will communicate as soon as we know and work to resolve it as quickly as possible.

05

IF YOU NEED TO CANCEL

If you cancel before production begins, 50% of your token payment will be returned to you. The remaining 50% is retained as a reservation and administrative fee.

Once production has begun, no refund can be issued. We will always notify you in writing when your piece enters the atelier.

06

RETURNS AND EXCHANGES

Every Oorvaya piece is made specifically for you. For this reason, returns and exchanges are not accepted once a piece has been delivered.

If your piece arrives with a manufacturing defect, we will assess it and repair or replace it at no cost to you. This is our commitment to the quality of every piece that leaves the atelier.

07

DELIVERY AND DAMAGE

We ask that all deliveries be recorded on video at the time of opening. This protects you and protects us. No damage claim can be assessed without an unboxing video.

Within India: If a piece arrives damaged, we will collect it, repair it at our Jaipur atelier, and return it to you at no additional cost.

International orders: All international shipments are fully focused and insured. If a piece arrives damaged, an insurance claim will be raised and the amount passed to you. We will guide you through the process.

International returns are not accepted. Under Indian import regulations, silver objects returning to India from abroad attract duties of 20% or more, in addition to licensing requirements. We ask all international clients to review specifications carefully before confirming.

08

CUSTOM AND BESPOKE WORK

Oorvaya accepts commissions for pieces with custom specifications: dimensions, motifs, finishes, and forms not in the existing collection. All bespoke work is subject to a separate conversation and quotation.

Once a bespoke commission is confirmed and production has begun, no changes to the specifications can be made. We confirm all details in writing before the piece enters the atelier.

09

OUR DESIGNS

All designs, images, and content across Oorvaya's website and communications are our intellectual property. Nothing may be reproduced or used without written permission.

Commissioning or purchasing a piece does not transfer any design rights. Oorvaya retains full ownership of all work.

10

YOUR DETAILS

Everything you share with us is held in confidence. We do not share client details, order specifications, or personal information with third parties. Your information is used only to fulfil your commission and keep you informed.

11

WHERE WE OPERATE

Oorvaya is an Indian house, operating under Indian law. All commissions are governed by the laws of India and subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Jaipur, Rajasthan. By confirming a commission, clients of all nationalities agree to this. This is standard practice. Where the maker is, that is the law.
